Last night's championship game between North Carolina and Villanova may go down as one of the best ever. It was a game that featured several ties and lead changes in which both teams relinquished double digit leads.
UNC started the game hot from beyond the arc, but a stingy Villanova defense kept UNC away from their true Identity paint touches. Villanova outscored UNC in the paint, UNC shot their lowest paint percentage all season.

When it seemed as if Villanova had a comfortable lead and would close the game out, the Tarheels battled back. Their run set up what was thought to be the biggest shot of the night, a Marcus Paige heave from three that knotted the score at 74. But with 4.7 seconds remaining, the best was yet to come. Ryan Arcidiacono pushed the ball up court and found a trailing Kris Jenkins open for three that sealed the game at the buzzer.
For the first time since 1985, the Villanova Wildcats were the last team standing.
