LSU snaps Kentucky' 22-game conference win streak with a win at home over the wildcats tonight. Freshman sensation Ben Simmons was limited due to foul trouble much of the first half but LSU still remained in control. LSU took a 10 point lead into the locker room at the half.
The wildcats struggled to score all night. Tyler Ulis and Jamal Murray finished the game with 23 and 21 points respectively while no one else on the roster made more than two field goals. Kentucky' big men also battled foul trouble with Marcus Lee and Alex Poythress fouling out by the 7:29 mark of the second half.
The tigers however received contributions all around leading the charge was Tim Quarterman and Craig Victor II with 21 and 15 respectively. Simmons chipped in with a double double of 14 points and 10 rebounds.
The Tigers outrebounded the Wildcats 46-32 and forced them into 14 turnovers. A struggling Wildcats offense only produced eight assist to the 17 by the Tigers who shot 49% for the game and 43% from three.
Kentucky suffered their third loss of the season bringing them to 11-3, while the Tigers improve to 9-5.
