Maryland 63 Wisconsin 60 F

Terrapins: Melo Trimble 21pts 9/17fg, 5 assist

Robert Carter 14pts 5/11fg, 11 rebounds

Badgers: Nigel Hayes 17pts 6/15fg

Ethan Happ 16pts 8/14fg, 11 rebounds

Maryland led for all but 2:16 of this game en route to their victory over the Badgers this afternoon. Wisconsin tied the game on four different occasions and took a one point lead briefly in the second half, but the Terps never panicked. Maryland regained the lead and the Badgers went on a four minute scoring drought until two Bronson Koenig free throws, cutting the terps lead to six.

Maryland couldn't quite put the Badgers away as they never led by more than eight in the second half. A missed free throw by Rasheed Sulaimon with 40 seconds remaining gave the Badgers life. Koenig came down on the Badgers' next possession to hit a big three pointer that would tie the game at 60. Perhaps no shot was bigger than that of Melo Trimble's. Trimble dribbled the ball as the clock ran down then pulled up for a three with a defender in his face with 1.2 seconds remaining. The Terps escaped with a 63-60 road win in conference play.
