Notre Dame entered tonight's match-up without their point guard and leading scorer Demetrius Jackson; Syrcuse took full advantage.

Despite an early 5-0 lead for the Fighting Irish, The Orange settled in and took full control. The orange converted nine first half Irish turnovers into 16 points. The Irish bench was also out scored 13-0 as Syrcuse cruised to a 44-27 lead at the half.

Trevor Cooney and Tyler Lydon led the charge at the half for the Orange with 15 and 13 points respectively. Steve Vasturia paced the Irish with 11.

The Orange' lead balooned to as much as 24 in the second half. Their dominant first half helped them cruise in the second half, although the Fighting Irish tried to rally cutting it to 16, the Orange never let up as they cruised to an 81-66 victory.

Notre Dame was lead this evening by V.J. Beachem's 22 points and Vasturia's 16 points to go with four assist in the loss. Four Orange players reached double figures to power Syracuse past Notre Dame. Cooney led the way with 22 followed by 15 apiece from Lydon, Michael Gbinije, and Malachi Richardson. Lydon also chipped in 10 rebounds.
