Maryland 74 Iowa 68 F

Terrapins: Rasheed Sulaimon 17pts, 5 asst

Robert Carter 17pts, 7 rebounds, 4 asst

Hawkeyes: Peter Jok 14pts

Mike Gesell 12pts

It was a tightly contested first half until the Terps were able to gain a little separation and take a six point halftime lead. Part of what kept Iowa hanging around were their nine free throw attempts compared to just one by the Terps.

Rasheed Sulaimon's 11 points helped the Terps gain a 41-35 halftime advantage. Adam Woodbury paced the Hawkeyes with seven points and five rebounds.

The two teams played an even second half with both teams scoring 33 points, but that first half deficit and the Terps' defense proved to be big. The Terps came up with seven steals and six blocks for the game. On the offensive end they dished out 16 assists.

Peter Jok and Mike Gesell paced the Hawkeyes in the loss with 14 and 12 points respectively. Four Terps reached double figures with Sulaimon and Robert Carter leading the way with 17 points apiece. Jake Layman and Melo Trimble chipped in 11.
