Just days off another tight win, South Carolina found themselves in a battle again.
South Carolina enjoyed a slight edge in field goal percentage with them converting 42 percent compared to just 36 percent by Texas A&M. The simialar team statistics embodied how competitve this game was. South Carolina won this one at the freethrow line where they enjoyed 11 more free throws than Texas A&M.
The Gamecocks held a 3-point lead with just 20 seconds remaining, when a foul by A"ja Wilson sent Jordan Jones to the line for two for the Aggies. Jordan made one of two, cutting the deficit to 56-57. Following that, the Aggies put the Gamecocks Khadijah Sessions at the line, here she converted on one bumping the lead up to two. Moments later a Chelsea Jennings layup would tie the game at 58. But, Sessions closed out the deal for South Carolina hitting a free throw with .9 seconds remaining.
South Carolina was able to walk away with the 1-point victory. The Gamecocks was led by a stellar performance from Wilson who finished with 26 points, eight rebounds, and eight blocks, Tiffany Mitchell chipped in 11 points, while Alaina Coates busy on the glass contributed 11 rebounds.
The Aggies were paced by Jones' 17 points, and Courtney Walker's 16 point, five rebound, five assist performance.
