This was a much anticipated game coming in as Iowa handed Michigan State their lone loss in the absence of Denzel Valentine just a few weeks back.

Michigan State held their largest lead of the game 3-0 off a Denzel Valentine three pointer to open the game. After a 7-7 tie early in the first half, Iowa took control and never looked back.

Thanks to nine first half three pointers and a slight 18-12 advantage on the boards, Iowa took a 47-25 lead into the lockerroom at the break. Michigan State was 2-of-8 from three and committed 14 first half turnovers. Peter Jok led the way for the Hawkeyes with 19 points, while Dom Uhl chipped in 10. Valentine paced the Spartans with eight.

Iowa continued their dominant performance in the second half. Michigan State never got closer than 16. They were held to 19 percent shooting from beyond the arc.

Four players reached double figures for the Hawkeyes in tonight's victory. Jok led the way with 23 points, Jarrod Uthoff chipped in a double double of 15 points and a game high 10 rebounds. Anthony Clemmins also scored 13 for Iowa, while Uhl finished with 10. Valentine finished with 14 in the game, the only other double figure scorer for the Spartans was Matt Costello with 15.
