Career night for Diamond Stone helps #4 Terps avoid upset

Terps: Diamond Stone 39pts 10/15fg, 19/25 FT, 12 rebounds
Penn: Shep Garner 17pts 5/13fg
After being held to 25% shooting in the first half by Penn state, Maryland faced a 31-23 halftime deficit. On the back of freshman center Diamond Stone, terps used a 10-2 at the beginning of the second half to take control of the game. Penn State remained composed and regained the lead. With some timely hooping by sophomore gaurd Melo Trimble and free throws by Stone, Maryland regained their first lead since 49-30 in the early parts of the second half. Stone netted a career high and the school's freshman scoring record with 39 points as #4 Maryland avoided the upset at home.
