The Incident
It was reported on various sites including ESPN, about the incident that occured early Wednesday morning outside of a Queens club. Knicks forward Cleanthony Early was robbed by as many as six men of two gold chains and gold caps from his teeth. The attackers proceeded to shoot Early in the right kneecap. He was taken to Elmhurst hospital to be treated.
My View on the Matter
As the news began to spread throughout social media many users voiced their opinion. I couldn't help but to disagree with some of the statements made, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Some users went so far as to blaming him for this happening saying he shouldn't have been at the club. While I agree that he should have had security with him, but this could have occured anywhere so it doesn't matter if he was at the club or not it doesn't make what happened right. It's sad that you can't go out and enjoy yourself, not to mention his team just got a win that night. Saying he shouldn't have been there in my opinion is equivalent to saying a rape victim shouldn't wear that type of clothing. Why must we blame the victim in this situation? It's not right.
They robbed him, then put his life and career in jeapordy, this world is full of cold-hearted people who are jealous and envious of a young man making something out of himself. We are all awarded the same 24 hours each day, we can all become succesful and achieve dreams that we want if we work at it. Why must we tear others down because of jealousy?
Sending prayers and wishing Cleanthony Early a speedy recovery during this time.
